Castillo Lifts Hops to 9-2 Triumph
The Yakima Hops defeated the Virginia Beach Whales, 9-2, at Hops Park today. Leading the charge for Yakima was catcher Pepe Castillo. He slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 6 runs and scored twice. The loss makes Virginia Beach 1-5.

Brian Orpen broke a 2-2 tie in the bottom of the fifth with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It put the Hops in front, 3-2. For the game, Orpen drove in one run.

"The boys came out and just played their butts off," said Yakima manager Gerald Clark.
