The Yakima Hops beat the Virginia Beach Whales, 6-3, at Hops Park. The Hops got a fine performance from catcher Pepe Castillo, who went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Virginia Beach is now 1-3.

In the bottom of the seventh, Castillo put his team in front with his 1st home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which came against Michael Wright, made it 5-3, Yakima.
