Mark Weston never let the Sixshooters get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his fastball, to pitch the Mariachis to a win, 5-1. Weston got the win, improving to 10-3. He allowed 4 hits and walked 3 over 6.1 innings. Weston allowed 1 run. Westwood has now lost 5 straight.

Rick Preston had a big hit for Nuevo Mexico in the bottom of the second inning. With Nuevo Mexico leading 1-0, Preston hit a 2-run double. It was his 3rd double of the season and put the Mariachis up, 3-0.
