Dolphins Paste 3-2 Loss on Saboteurs

Pine Island and Toledo played a hard-fought contest.
Pine Island Dolphins starter Juan Rodríguez turned in a sterling performance against the Toledo Saboteurs, leading his team to a slim 3-2 win. Rodríguez went 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 2, and struck out 4. His record improves to 9-5. Barry Cuda finished the game for Pine Island and earned his 1st save.
Had Pablo Bazarte not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Bazarte hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Dolphins.
"We were in it," said Toledo manager José Zamora. "We just didn't score enough runs."
The win for the Dolphins raised their record to 57-45.
