Dolphins Earn 2-1 Win Versus Saboteurs
The Pine Island Dolphins eked out a 2-1 win versus the Toledo Saboteurs at Toledo Backyard Park. Nobody did more than pitcher Chaim van den Akker. He was terrific. Brian Payne, now 2-3, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 2 and walking 2. Victor Jones recorded his 12th save for Pine Island.

Runs were scarce in this one. So, Frank Chang's at-bat in the top of the eighth was vitally important. With one out, the Pine Island shortstop hit a sacrifice fly, to give his team a 2-1 lead.

Chang called the win "a team effort."

Pine Island occupies second place in the Menard's AA at 56-45.
