The Barton Springs Blues got a strong performance from pitcher Yan Velthuizen, who stymied the Richland offense en route to a win, 4-2, at Blues Field. Velthuizen got the win, improving to 6-2. He allowed 3 hits and walked 1 over 6 innings. Velthuizen allowed no runs. Wladimir Rosenburg notched his 16th save in 19 chances.

The Blues got a big at-bat from left fielder Emory Mills. For the game, Mills was 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the third, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 8th home run of the season gave Barton Springs a 2-0 lead.
