MotorBoaters Deal Blues 8-5 Defeat
|
A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Lake Murray MotorBoaters and Barton Springs Blues.
The Lake Murray MotorBoaters topped the Barton Springs Blues by the score of 8-5, with the biggest share of the credit going to designated hitter Folkert Eikelenboom. Eikelenboom was 2 for 5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 5 for the MotorBoaters on the day. Juan Romero got the win, improving to 9-7. He held the Blues to 3 runs on 6 hits over 5.1 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 4.
Eikelenboom contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Lake Murray in the top of the third. With his team trailing 2-1, Eikelenboom took a forkball from Sébastien Ferrari and stroked the home run to right. His 3rd home run of the season allowed the MotorBoaters to leap in front, 4-2.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Eikelenboom said after the game.
Lake Murray has now won 5 games in a row.
