Cooper Helps Lake Murray Outscore Richland
|
John Cooper added some punch to the Lake Murray offense, helping them outmuscle the Richland Rails, 12-10. In the game, Cooper belted 2 home runs, while adding 6 RBI and scoring twice. The win belongs to Jeff Watson in relief. His record improves to 2-3. Ernesto Cabruja took the loss for Richland. Nick Hernández earned save number 13 this season.
In the bottom of the eighth, Cooper put his team in front with his 2nd home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which came against Ernesto Cabruja, made it 12-10, Lake Murray.
MotorBoaters manager Scott Riggs wasn't all too pleased, despite the win, telling reporters that the performance highlighted some clear areas for improvement moving forward. He refused to be more specific, however. "I'm not gonna publicize our weaknesses," he said. "That stuff stays in the clubhouse."
At 39-41, the MotorBoaters claim 8th place in the Menard's AA.
