The Nuevo Mexico Mariachis picked up a win at Mariachi Band Shell, knocking off the Lancaster Farmers, 4-2. Starting pitcher Charles Lawrence played a key role in the triumph. The 4th-place Mariachis are now 21-18, the Farmers 15-24.
Jafar bin Numair hit a run-scoring double off Jeff MacNiven in the bottom of the fifth, which put the Mariachis in front, 2-1. In addition to the double, bin Numair had 1 single and 1 walk, while going 2 for 3.
"The vibe's good," said Nuevo Mexico manager Steve Bryan. "We've got to keep it going."
