Guinea Pigs Win at Tacoma, 3-1
|
The Gwinnett Guinea Pigs defeated the Tacoma Fur Traders, 3-1, in M3L Double A action at Ballpark of Tacoma. Gwinnett pitcher Brody Avery had a standout performance. Avery, the winner, moves to 1-2. He threw 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 8 and giving up 2 walks. With the win, Gwinnett is 9-9.
Also having an impact was center fielder John Harris, who stroked a double in the top of the second for Gwinnett. For the game, Harris was 2-4 with a double.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Gwinnett manager Pedro Vázquez.
