Nova Scotia picked up a win at The Dungeon in Halifax, toppling the Colorado Billy Goats, 7-3. Pitcher Stewart Telfer was one of the reasons the Leviathan triumphed. Jorge Valdéz earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. His record is now 2-5. The win gives Nova Scotia a season record of 58-45.
Nova Scotia took a 7-3 lead on Jeff Fields's 3rd home run of the season. The grand slam home run came off Colorado pitcher Eisaku Ishikawa in the bottom of the eighth.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Fields said.
