Battery Top Leviathan, 7-3
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the Nova Scotia Leviathan and Charleston Battery get after it.
The Charleston Battery bested the Nova Scotia Leviathan, 7-3, at Charleston Armory. Norbert King was one of the standouts. He went 3 for 4 with a triple and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. At 47-54, Charleston is in 8th place in the Third League.
King contributed a big hit, a bases-clearing triple, for Charleston in the bottom of the first. With his team trailing 1-0, King took a curveball from Manny Guerra and stroked the triple to right. His 1st triple of the season allowed the Battery to leap in front, 3-1.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," King told the Charleston Observer. "It's as simple as that."
