Great Northern Field was the site of a tense game between the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC and Charleston Battery.
The Charleston Battery defeated the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC, 3-2, in Menard's Third League action at Great Northern Field. Charleston pitcher Ronald McDonald had a standout performance. The Battery now have a record of 44-52.
Charleston used the bat of Rolf Pauw to capture the win. The second baseman jacked a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Battery ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a dandy.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Thunder Bay manager Scott Williams.
