De La Cruz Propels New Orleans Offense in 11-3 Rout
The New Orleans Voodoo coasted to a win over the Pittsburgh Kingfishers, 11-3. Francisco De La Cruz had a good day at the plate for New Orleans. He belted 2 home runs, while adding 7 RBI and scoring twice. Aarre Rissanen, the winner, improved to 4-1. He held the Kingfishers to 2 runs on 2 hits over 8.1 innings, while striking out 9 and walking 2. New Orleans bumps their record to 40-26 with the win.

With New Orleans leading 1-0 in the bottom of the second, Eduardo López hit a run-scoring single off Pittsburgh pitcher Bhu Pahayahay. It put the Voodoo ahead 2-0.

"When this team comes together and plays the way we can, we can compete with anyone," said De La Cruz. "I think we're going to keep proving that."
