Battery Top Rainbow Mermaids, 4-3
|
The Charleston Battery beat the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids, 4-3, in part because of right fielder Lang Ouyang. He went 2 for 6 with a home run, 3 walks, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Charleston now sits in 7th place in the Third League at 31-37.
Ouyang had a game-changing home run in the top of the 22nd. On a full count fastball from José Hernández, he banged a solo home run to right, giving the Battery a 4-3 lead. It was the 11th home run of the year for Ouyang.
"The game is never over 'til it's over," said a jubilant Don Lookingbill, the Charleston skipper.
