Lakers Need Extra Frames to Get Past Leviathan
|
Nova Scotia got a terrific performance from pitcher Joshua Dobson, but it wasn't enough to beat the Echo Park Lakers. Echo Park won the The Dungeon in Halifax contest, 3-2. Dobson threw 9.0 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. Echo Park reliever Sun-ho Yang picked up the win, upping his record to 2-3. Robinson Espinoza took the loss. Bobby Taylor got the save, the 6th for him this season.
Jimmy Dreux had the most critical at-bat for Echo Park. With two in the top of the 11th inning, Dreux hit a 0-2 fastball from Robinson Espinoza for a run-scoring single. It put Echo Park in front, 3-2.
"Our guys just had that look of determination," said winning manager Jordan Calhoun.
With this game in the books, Echo Park is 23-37, Nova Scotia 35-25.
