Flamingos Sneak By Hurricanes, 5-4
|
Las Vegas picked up a win at The Strip, toppling the Cape Coral Hurricanes, 5-4. Pitcher Gelana Maitho was one of the reasons the Flamingos triumphed. Don Williams, credited with the win, is now 3-2. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits. Las Vegas is 6th in the Third League with a record of 28-29.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth, an error by the Hurricanes allowed the Flamingos to score the winning run.
"We fed off the energy of the crowd at the end," Maitho said.
