Late Magic Gets Buckhead 5-3 Win
|
The Echo Park Lakers got a superb performance from pitcher Jason O'Rourke, but the Buckhead Bowties still won the game, 5-3. O'Rourke threw 6.0 innings of 4-hit ball. The winner in relief was Júlio Moya. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.2 innings. He now owns a record of 2-1. Buckhead is now 25-21, Echo Park 15-31.
Buckhead got the win thanks to a clutch hit from Ieremia Mohala. The designated hitter stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Bowties ahead, 5-3. Though it was his only hit in 2 at-bats, it had a major impact on the outcome.
"Getting the win feels nice," said Mohala. "More importantly, I had a good game."
