Thunder Bay and Detroit duked it out and the Northern Lions BC came out victorious.

The Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC topped the Detroit Elite, 6-4, in Menard's Third League action at Detroit Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Thunder Bay pitcher Hakizimana Kipkorir. José Cruz got credit for the save for Thunder Bay. It was his 6th of the year.

The Elite had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Northern Lions BC going into the top of the second inning. That changed quickly when the 23-year old right fielder Wendell D'antonio came to the plate. D'antonio hit a solo home run on a 2-1 fastball from Detroit hurler Yuan Thian. It was D'antonio's 5th home run of the year.

"We'll build on this win," said Kipkorir.

The win makes Thunder Bay 15-23.
