Rails Stay Hot, Beat Sixshooters, 3-0
|
Richland got a first-rate effort from pitcher Kaimalie Heathershaw, who frustrated Westwood hitters en route to a 3-0 Rails triumph at Rails Ballpark. The save went to Martín Cedeño, his 4th this season. The loss lowers the Westwood record to 3-5.
The Rails got an important contribution from designated hitter Jerrel van Katwijk, who in the bottom of the second punched a full count sinker into left for a 2-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Rails ahead, 2-0.
"This team is real focused right now," said Richland manager Tom Carlson.
