The Plymouth Rocks got a strong performance from pitcher Marvin McCall, who stymied the Sacramento offense en route to a win, 4-2, at Plymouth Quarry. The 4th-place Rocks have won 4 in a row.

The Rocks got a lift from first baseman Ricardo Alejo, who in the bottom of the first hit a run-scoring double. His 23rd double of the season put the Rocks on top, 1-0.

"I had a good game plan," said McCall. "I made my pitches." His manager concurred. "It was all there," Harris Harden said, "the velocity, the sharpness of his pitches."
