Rocks Take Nail-Biter Over Fighting Dachshunds
|
Ellenburg got a big-time effort from pitcher Thomas Canó, but it wasn't enough to keep the Plymouth Rocks from winning the game, 5-4. Canó threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball for the losing team. Plymouth reliever Natalino Gasco was the winner. His record is now 6-3. The losing pitcher was Alberto Jiménez. Plymouth is 4th in the Silver AAA with a record of 50-39.
Plymouth won the game in the bottom of the tenth inning. With no outs and Alberto Jiménez on the mound for Ellenburg, right fielder Javier Caballero hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Rocks fans to their feet.
"Exciting game to play in," said Caballero. "Getting the win makes it even better."
