Rocks Edge Sunset District in Pitching Duel

The Plymouth Rocks got a magnificent effort from pitcher Josh Sargent, who kept Sunset District hitters in check en route to a 1-0 Rocks win at Plymouth Quarry. In 7 innings, Sargent surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 0. He allowed no runs. The Rocks improved to 43-31.
Joe Saunders, the Plymouth center fielder, contributed a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth inning to make the score 1-0, Rocks. For the game, Saunders went 2-4 with 2 singles.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Plymouth skipper Harris Harden.
