Hialeah Dismisses Ellenburg, 8-4
|
The Hialeah Dodos topped the Ellenburg Fighting Dachshunds, 8-4, at Dog Park in Ellenburg. Hialeah designated hitter Arturo Collazo banged out 1 single and 1 double, while driving in 3 runs. Jeff Vázquez, who went 6.2 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 4 runs on 7 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 4. His record now stands at 4-5. Dan Carter recorded the save, his 18th.
With Hialeah leading 1-0 in the top of the fourth, Collazo hit a bases-clearing double off Ellenburg hurler Anastasio Ayala. It was the 9th double of the season for Collazo and put his team ahead, 4-0.
"I like our mindset right now," said Hialeah manager Billy Strauss.
The 6th-place Dodos have won 4 in a row.
