Dodos Come Up Short at Norfolk, 2-1

Norfolk Field was the site of a true pitchers' duel.
Norfolk Pajaritos starter Hamish Mitchell turned in an exceptional performance against the Hialeah Dodos at Norfolk Field, resulting in a Norfolk win, 2-1. Mitchell picked up the win for Norfolk, going 7.2 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 5-5. Duk-yeo Cho, credited with the save, is now 4 for 9 in save opportunities.
The Dodos had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Pajaritos going into the bottom of the second inning. That changed quickly when the 26-year old center fielder Kelvin van Zeist came to the plate. van Zeist hit a run-scoring double on a 1-1 fastball from Hialeah hurler Jeff Vázquez. It was van Zeist's 4th double of the year.
"For the most part, I made good pitches when I needed to," said Mitchell.
Norfolk raised its record to 33-28 with the win.
