Getting an impressive start from Rich Banks, Sacramento beat Sunset District by the score of 3-2. Banks picked up the win for Sacramento, going 5.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 4-2. Tetsuyuki Ando recorded the save for Sacramento, his 6th of the season.
Sacramento used a well-timed hit by Theo Belcher to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Redlegs ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"We found a way to get it done," Belcher said.
The first-place Redlegs have a one-game lead in their division.
