Flyers Sink Redlegs, 3-2
|
Pennsauken beat Sacramento at Pennsauken Park, eking out a 3-2 win. The win was due in large part to shortstop Cho-yeong Yi. He was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. The Flyers saw their win-loss record go to 34-23. At the same time, the Redlegs fell to 37-20.
Tied up with the Redlegs in the bottom of the fifth inning, the Flyers got a boost from right fielder Matt Turner. With runners on 1st and 3rd, Turner saw a 2-2 fastball from Shem Burkholder and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Pennsauken on top, 2-1.
After the game, Pennsauken manager Culley Adjeng applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
