The Hartford Pride eked out a 2-1 win versus the Pennsauken Flyers at Pennsauken Park. Nobody did more than pitcher Matthew Rentería. He was terrific. Rentería, now 3-2, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 3, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. The save went to Ted Browning, his 2nd this season.

Hartford used the timely hitting of Ijsbert Reynoud to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Pride on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Rentería told the Hartford Daily.

The second-place Pride go to 30-20.
