Pajaritos Prevail, 3-1, Over Sacramento
|
Norfolk picked up a win at Norfolk Field, bumping off the Sacramento Redlegs, 3-1. Pitcher Peyton Keys was a major reason the Pajaritos emerged victorious. Keys picked up the win for Norfolk, going 8 innings. He gave up 1 run on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 5-4. The save went to Duk-yeo Cho, his 3rd this season.
The Pajaritos got a big at-bat from left fielder Armando Merza. For the game, Merza belted 2 home runs. In the bottom of the sixth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 7th home run of the season gave Norfolk a 2-1 lead.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Keys said.
Norfolk raised its record to 26-23 with the win.
