Porter Lifts Thunderbirds to 8-0 Win
|
Behind the bravura of designated hitter Victor Porter, the Hamilton Thunderbirds topped the Ellenburg Fighting Dachshunds by the score of 8-0. Porter was 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 6 RBI and scoring once for the Thunderbirds. Benoît Lambert earned the win for Hamilton. He lasted 5.2 innings, allowing no runs on 2 hits, while striking out 4. With the win, he raised his record to 1-4. Steve MacDougal finished the game for Hamilton and earned his 3rd save.
Porter had a critical at-bat in the bottom of the seventh for Hamilton, coming through with a grand slam home run to put Hamilton in front, 7-0.
Ellenburg manager Marvin Hayes said his team was "out of sync."
