Flyers Best Rainbeaus in Pitching Duel
|
Pennsauken Park was the site of a true pitchers' duel.
The Pennsauken Flyers eked out a 2-1 win versus the Kansas Rainbeaus at Pennsauken Park. Nobody did more than pitcher Franklin Hopkins. He was terrific. Pennsauken reliever Tuomi Hattunen got the win, raising his record to 2-0. Milo Clark was tagged with the loss. Duane Marks was credited with the save for Pennsauken, his 1st of the season.
The Flyers got a big hit from second baseman John Miller. In the bottom of the sixth, Miller smacked a 2-run double off Kansas pitcher Gerjan Muijen. It was his 2nd double of the season. Suddenly, the Flyers were ahead, 2-1.
"Every loss hurts," said Kansas manager Chan-koo Kim. "But this was a tough one."
With the win, Pennsauken goes to 22-14, while the Rainbeaus fall to 15-21.
