Extra-Inning Walk-Off Win for Thunderbirds
|
Hamilton beat Kansas at Coyote Wildlife Refuge, escaping with a 5-4 win. The win in large part was due to center fielder Greg Erwin. He was 1 for 3 with a home run and 3 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The 8th-place Rainbeaus have dropped 4 straight games.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the 11th. With no one out, Erwin hit a fastball from Douggie Westcott for a solo home run. The Thunderbirds, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"We had a chance to win," said Kansas manager Chan-koo Kim, "but we didn't get it done."
