Flyers Earn 3-2 Win Versus Fighting Dachshunds
|
The Pennsauken Flyers withstood an impressive performance by Ellenburg third baseman Al Stabb to defeat the Fighting Dachshunds, 3-2, at Pennsauken Park. Stabb went 2-2 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Pennsauken, now 11-5, has played well in the early going.
Had Brian Pierce not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Pierce hit a run-scoring double. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Flyers.
"We'll take some time to unwind," said Pierce, "and then get after it again."
