The Pennsauken Flyers stopped the Sacramento Redlegs, 4-3, at Sacramento Sanitation Station. The Flyers got a big game from Brian Pierce, who went 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 2 runs. Carlos Rosas, credited with the win, is now 1-1. He allowed no runs on 1 hit. Ron Mora picked up the save, his 2nd.

Pedro Romero, the former first round draft pick , had a direct impact on the outcome. Romero contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the fourth inning to put Pennsauken up, 2-1.

Sacramento manager John Brown said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.

The defeat makes Sacramento 3-6.
