The Hamilton Thunderbirds topped the Hialeah Dodos, 5-2, in USSL Triple A action at Coyote Wildlife Refuge. The standout performance belonged to Hamilton pitcher and Burnaby, Canada, native Claude Simon. Jonathan Luna earned the save for Hamilton, his 2nd. Hialeah now has a record of 3-5.

The Thunderbirds got an important contribution from designated hitter Austin Kirkpatrick, who in the bottom of the third hit a 1-2 screwball into left-center for a run-scoring triple. It was his 3rd triple of the season and put the Thunderbirds ahead, 2-0.

Kirkpatrick said his team "played with determination."
