Sacramento got a terrific performance from pitcher Juan Estéves, but it wasn't enough to beat the Pennsauken Flyers. Pennsauken won the Sacramento Sanitation Station contest, 5-1. Estéves threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball for the losing team. Júlio Rocho, 1-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 2.2 innings. King Nelson earned the save, his 3rd.

Runs were scarce in this one. So, Yoshikazu Hashimoto's at-bat in the top of the eighth was vitally important. With one out, the Pennsauken designated hitter grounded out, driving in 1 run, to give his team a 2-1 lead.

"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said Pennsauken manager Culley Adjeng.

With the loss, Sacramento falls to 3-5.
