Thunderbirds Pull Off Thrilling 4-2 Win in Extras
|
The Hamilton Thunderbirds stymied the Ellenburg Fighting Dachshunds, 4-2, at Dog Park in Ellenburg. Tom Rollins had a good day at the plate. He was 1-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 3 for Hamilton. Pei Fa closed the door for Hamilton, picking up his 1st save of the year. With the win, Hamilton elevates its record to 4-1.
Hamilton got the win thanks to a clutch hit from Austin Kirkpatrick. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to put the Thunderbirds ahead, 3-2. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it had a major impact on the outcome.
"Good win for us, tough loss for them," said Rollins.
