Skidding Kingfishers Lose 7th Straight
|
New Orleans and Pittsburgh duked it out and the Voodoo came out victorious.
The Pittsburgh Kingfishers got a sterling performance from pitcher Wes Johnston, but the New Orleans Voodoo still prevailed, 3-0. Johnston threw 6.0 innings of shutout ball. New Orleans now has a 4-game win streak.
New Orleans needed the clutch hitting of Tetsu Matsumoto to notch the win. The third baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Voodoo on top, 3-0. For the game, Matsumoto had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said New Orleans manager Chase Sims.
