Brass Squelch Nobles Offense in Shutout Win
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the Baton Rouge Brass and the Bakersfield Nobles, Al Hussey was the difference-maker. The Baton Rouge right-hander spearheaded the 3-0 win. Picking up the save was Matt Jenkins, his 3rd. Baton Rouge is now riding a 3-game win streak.
Ed Mooney, the 23-year old shortstop , had a direct impact on the outcome. Mooney contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the third inning to put Baton Rouge up, 1-0.
"It was a tough night at the plate," said Bakersfield manager Jesús Román.
