The Monongahela Monsters bested the Sioux Falls Red Pandas by a score of 2-1, with center fielder Patrick Beck getting the main credit. On the day, Beck was 3 for 4 with a triple and 2 singles for the Monsters. Jamal Baldwin came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3.1 innings. His record now stands at 1-2. Richard McCord picked up the save, his 5th.

The Monsters got a big boost from right fielder Brenton Hale who had a run-scoring ground out in the top of the third inning off Red Pandas hurler Vicente Medina. It was his 1st RBI of the season and put Monongahela on top, 1-0.

"Runs were at a premium," said Monongahela manager Sancho Tornero.

The third-place Monsters improved to 44-39.
