Boston Makes It 7 Straight with 7-3 Win
|
The Boston Patriots faced a tough opponent in Pittsburgh pitcher Todd Hunter, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Pittsburgh Grounds by a final score of 7-3. Hunter went 7.1 innings and allowed 2 runs. Lung Zhou got credit for the win, improving to 4-1. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. The last-place Kingfishers have lost 5 consecutive games.
This game was not decided until Fred Koch came to bat in the top of the ninth. With the bases loaded and no one out, the Boston right fielder drew a walk, driving in 1 run. The Patriots took the lead, 4-3.
