Reserves Stick Starks with 6-1 Loss
|
Jamie Miller never let the Starks get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his changeup, to pitch the Reserves to a win, 6-1. The winning pitcher was Miller, now 5-0. He tossed 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 4. The 8th-place Reserves go to 33-44.
Sergio Valentín contributed to the Athletic Club KC win with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the second baseman had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Valentín told the Athletic Club KC Gazette.
