The performance of Tony Hernández proved critical in helping Tortolita beat Syracuse, 9-5. The Drummers left fielder went 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 4. Boris Milatovic picked up the win, improving his season record to 6-8. He struck out 6 in 6.1 innings.

David Alcabú, the 33-year old third baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Alcabú contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put Tortolita up, 5-3.

"I felt good up there," said Alcabú. "I saw the ball well."
