Brass Win at Alaskan, 6-4
|
Baton Rouge took on Alaskan in front of a lively crowd.
The Baton Rouge Brass knocked off the Alaskan Humpbacks, 6-4, at Sea World. Arthur Witter was a big reason Baton Rouge won. The designated hitter went 2-3 with a home run, a double, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Horace Hill was the winning pitcher. Over 5 innings, he allowed 4 runs on 8 hits, with 1 walk and 3 strikeouts. Carlos Rosado recorded the save, his 3rd.
Harry Cox, who is tied for 7th in the PAAA in RBI with 33, contributed to the Baton Rouge win with a 2-run home run in the top of the second. For the game, the third baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Baton Rouge manager Sixto Palaeios.
Their 33-32 record puts the Brass 6th in the Premier AAA.
