Baton Rouge and Bakersfield duked it out and the Brass came out victorious.

Bakersfield first baseman Jean Kools had a good game, even if his team did not. The Nobles dropped a 6-5 decision to Baton Rouge at Brass Field. Kools was 1-2 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Baton Rouge pitcher Matt Jenkins got the win, upping his record to 1-1. Jorge Vásquez got the loss.

The game was at a stalemate until third baseman Baden Baldwin came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Bakersfield pitcher Jorge Vásquez, he hit a 2-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Baton Rouge on top, 6-5.

"I like the grit of this ballclub," Baldwin said.

Baton Rouge occupies 5th place in the Premier AAA at 30-31.
