Nobles Stop Starks, 3-0
|
The Bakersfield Nobles got a magnificent performance from pitcher Nicky Bogdan, who stifled the Syracuse offense en route to a 3-0 Nobles win at Stark Stadium. Bogdan picked up the win for Bakersfield, going 6.1 innings. He gave up no runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 2-3. The Nobles saw their win-loss record go to 27-23. At the same time, the Starks fell to 22-28.
The Nobles got a big at-bat from right fielder Gilberto Silva, who in the top of the fourth hit a solo home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Nobles on top, 1-0.
Bogdan attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
