The Bakersfield Nobles defeated the Athletic Club KC Reserves, 3-2, in USPL Triple A action at Jerome Grounds. Cho-yun Yip pulled his weight. The 2-year veteran went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Bakersfield occupies third place in the Premier AAA at 24-19.
The game was all tied up in the bottom of the eighth, until Yip delivered big-time for Bakersfield, stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off Robert O'Reilly. The game-changing hit put the Nobles on top, 3-2.
"I like what I saw today," said Bakersfield manager Jesús Román, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
