Good production from third baseman Jorge Gonzáles helped the Vermont Lake Monsters topple the Salt Lake City Buzz, 5-3. Gonzáles went 4 for 4 with a double and 3 singles, while scoring 3 runs for the Lake Monsters. The 11th-place Lake Monsters improved to 31-53.
With runs few and far between, the Lake Monsters had to seize their opportunities when they came. One of the most important chances for Vermont came in the top of the second inning, when left fielder Brock Allen delivered a 2-run single. The single was hit off Elroy Mastenbroek and made the score 2-0, Lake Monsters. Allen was 2-4 with 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI.
