Cattlemen Win Thriller, 6-5
|
Ft. Worth picked up a win at The Cattle Pen, toppling the New Orleans Voodoo, 6-5. Pitcher Javier Ariza was one of the reasons the Cattlemen triumphed. Ft. Worth reliever Mike Davidson was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Elton Ray. With the victory, the Cattlemen record now stands at 20-18.
In the bottom of the ninth, with one out and the game tied, 5-5, catcher Masafumi Kawaguchi won it for Ft. Worth. With the bases loaded, Kawaguchi hit a 2-1 splitter from Elton Ray for a run-scoring single, giving his team the 6-5 win.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said New Orleans manager Chase Sims. "The effort was great."
