Squirrel Monkeys Pick Up 4-3 Win
|
Syracuse pitcher Jeff Morehead did his part in helping his team beat the Port Huron Blitzkrieg, 4-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Morehead picked up the win for Syracuse, going 7 innings. He gave up 3 runs on 8 hits. He now sports a record of 6-3. The 'W' lifts Syracuse's record to 50-28.
In the bottom of the seventh, Syracuse second baseman Juan Pérez put his team on top. With two out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he hit his 1st double of the year. Port Huron pitcher Darwin McGinnity served it up. Just like that, the Squirrel Monkeys were ahead, 4-3.
"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said Syracuse manager Scott Garrison.
